How typical.  The same company that tells you to believe genetically engineered food is healthy because THEY say it's healthy, has now sponsored a World Food Prize that's been given to... guess who?  Their own Robert Fraley, Exec.VP & Chief Technology Officer. Organic beats GMO … again!

Originally reported in The Guardian, this Grist.org article points to subsistence farmers in India who have turned away from GMOs and chemical fertilizers and are using good old fashioned farmyard manure ... and got record yields.  They had better rice, wheat and potato yields (22 tons of rice on 2.5 acres) than any recorded by scientists or other farmers using synthetic herbicides and fertilizers.   Their method?  Fewer, more widely spaced plants, less water, actively aerating the soil and applying lots of organic fertilizer (cow poop no doubt, they're in India after all.)   It's also worth noting that regions in India [...]
