Support Veterans in Sustainable Farming!

The United States needs one million new farmers over the next 10 years to produce enough food to sustain our growing population. With their physical conditioning, strategic training, and discipline, our nation’s veterans are the ideal candidates to lead the next generation of farmers, and to secure our food security. Veterans return home with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs), as well as other physical and emotional wounds of war, and often find it difficult to reintegrate back into a traditional job and daily life. Through sustainable farming, veterans are able to heal from these wounds through working with the land, creating and nurturing life, and having a support system of other veterans. Our mission is to reach returning war veterans to plant a seed about a career in sustainable farming, and then to connect them with the training, resources, and programs they need to be successful.

Ground Operations is a call to action featuring a documentary film and a national tour of audience engagement events that feature a screening of the film, farm-fresh food and farmer-veteran speakers. We invite everyone interested to join and share our campaign to strengthen the network of combat veterans transitioning into sustainable agriculture; and to help increase the resources necessary for them to create healthy new lives for themselves and food security for communities across America.

Join the mission to share the vision.

Resources for Veterans

There are valuable resources for veterans interested in sustainable farming, ranching, and artisan food production, to support them whether they are just beginning or already a seasoned pro. Programs are available specifically to support veterans accessing training, financing, business development, job placement and education.

If you are a veteran interested in farming, please contact us at info@groundoperations.com so that we can support you in your mission!
