Dulanie Ellis – Producer/Director

Dulanie Ellis was a Script Supervisor for feature films and television for 15 years in Hollywood and taught the craft for several years. She moved to Ojai to become an Associate Producer of documentary films at Tell the Truth Pictures in 1990. There, she was part of the producing team for four documentaries about social justice issues made for HBO and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Their last film together – MIGHTY TIMES, THE LEGACY OF ROSA PARKS – was nominated for an Academy Award.

A consuming desire to learn what it would take to protect the farmland in her region prompted Dulanie to launch Walk Your Talk Productions. Once she entered the world of sustainable agriculture, she was hooked. As she became more of an activist, the film topics just kept coming: environmental stewardship of farming, the need for decent farm-worker housing, the home-farming trend in suburbia. All these issues, the people, the land and the passion, were preparation for the greatest story of her career, GROUND OPERATIONS.
